Vaalwater is situated on the Vaalwater Road, between
Uniondale and the Baviaanskloof, a mere 2km from the
main Baviaanskloof access road.
Vaalwater is the last stop before
entering or after leaving the Baviaanskloof and is
well-located as a base for day trips into the Kloof.
The self catering guest cottages and
the camp sites facilities lend themselves exceptionally
well to gatherings for large groups.
Guests are free to walk the various
trails along the river courses, to bird watch, or to go
on guided game viewing drives making Vaalwater more than
just an overnight stop.
The game to be seen includes
springbuck, blesbuck, kudu, Oryx, duiker, Zebra and
klipspringer.
Tortoises, baboons and blue apes are
also to be seen as well as many other smaller creatures.
The farm tracks are also ideal for
mountain bikes.
Children will also enjoy the farm
animals such as the ostriches, chickens, goats, geese
and ducks.
The quiet peaceful surroundings make
for exceptional evenings around the campfire.
The sound of the Karoo nightlife will
entertain you whilst the clear skies offer breathtaking
views of the stars.
There is also a 4x4 track of about
10km with some challenging sections and is suitable for
beginners and the experienced.
For the hot summer days a renovated
farm dam is the ideal place to splash and cool off.
